Why do we use stainless steel braided flexible hose instead of rubber hose?

Under some conditions, flexible metal hose can't be replaced b rubber hose. First, in cryogenic temperature and extremely high temperatures, rubber hose often get brittle and cause leaks. However, for stainless steel, its tensile strength and fatigue strength will improves when the temperatures get lower. Second, rubber hose is not suitable for full vacuum applications. Third, stainless steel metal hose is free of most corrosion from oils, chemicals and weathers. Fourth, although metal corrugated hose has a higher price, its service life is far longer than rubber ones.
